Purchase Process Guide

Two Campers. One Purchase Process.

Reserving an Outpost 6.5 or an Outpost 8.0? The path from deposit to delivery day is the same either way. Six steps, no mystery fees, and a real person in Bayfield on the other end of every email. Whether you are buying your first Outpost or you already have a deposit down, this guide walks the whole process, from reserving your production spot to the day you drive away, plus a pricing calculator for each model.

You can also buy through one of our dealers directly or skip the wait with an inventory camper, if one is on the lot when you look.

What stays the same for both models
  • Six steps, start to finish
  • A non-refundable deposit reserves your build slot
  • Build sheet locked several weeks before production
  • 10% production deposit kicks off the build
  • Balance due two business days before delivery
  • Financing up to 90% through Newcoast
  • Pickup in Bayfield, dealer pickup, or shipping
What’s different by model
  • Which camper you reserve at checkout
  • Your lead time
  • Your available add-ons

Step-by-step

Step 1: Reserve your production spot

Choose your model, then place your deposit through our website. That is what locks your place in the production schedule. The deposit is $1,250 and non-refundable no matter which camper you reserve.

Your deposit confirms your intent to purchase and unlocks everything that comes next, including your build sheet and your estimated delivery window. Give the Preorder Agreement a read for the full terms before you place it.

Buying through a dealer? You place your deposit with them directly instead of here.

Step 2: Finalize your build

Several weeks before production begins, we send you a form to lock in your options. Browse the Optional Add-On Guide ahead of time to see what is available for your model, from extra solar to a roof rack to an indoor shower setup.

Once you submit your choices, we create your Buyer’s Order with the final out-the-door price. Nothing shows up on it that you did not pick.

Step 3: Submit 10% Production Deposit

To kick off production, you will make a second payment equal to 10% of your final build price. Your initial deposit counts toward that total.

This payment is also non-refundable, and it locks in two things: your exact configuration and your place in the production queue.

Step 4: We start building

With your selections confirmed and your production deposit in, your camper heads into the shop. This is also when we start coordinating how you want to take delivery, so there are no last-minute logistics.

Step 5: Final Payment

The remaining balance is due two business days before pickup or shipment. If you are financing, up to 90% of the total cost can be financed depending on credit approval. Learn more about financing options. We will walk you through this step so everything is squared away before handoff day.

Step 6: Take delivery

Option A: Pickup in Bayfield, CO

Come see where your camper was built. You get a full walkthrough of every system, and we can run the DC-to-DC cable on your truck while you are here for an additional fee if you need it.

Option B: Pick up from a Dealer

Our dealer network keeps growing across the U.S. and Canada. Let us know early so we can plan accordingly. You can find our current dealers here.

Option C: Ship to you

We can connect you with a trusted transport partner to bring your camper directly to you. Just tell us you are interested and we will get it moving.

Please note: Receiving delivery of an Outpost Camper may require a forklift for unloading.

How long is the wait?

Current lead times are posted at the very top of every page on this site, right above the navigation. That banner is always up to date, so it is the number to trust.

Two things shape your delivery date:

  • Which model you reserve. The Outpost 6.5 and the Outpost 8.0 are built on separate production timelines, so their lead times are different. The banner lists both.
  • When your deposit lands. Production slots are scheduled first come, first served. The earlier your deposit, the earlier your slot.

Once your deposit is in, we give you an estimated delivery window and keep you updated as your build moves through the shop.
